Our Wedding

They met at the fencing club at NCSU, Joe could actually fence and Nicole was there to try something new. Through joint experiences like group game nights, state fairs, food with friends, they became closer. Sticking with each other for over 10 years of adventures, experiences, and participating in each other's jokes. And now you get to join them for a big celebration of love. What could be better?

Our Story

She's Nicole's friend from high school. You either know her and love her, or will meet her and love her. There's kinda no alternative options. Don't worry if the party isn't happening it can probably be found in Trina's purse. (There's usually at least one portable party light in there)

Trina

She's known Nicole her entire life and is stuck with her forever. She's pretty much a quadruple threat and probably a threat in five other ways you wouldn't have even considered. You will probably find her on the dance floor tearing it up all evening. Save a dance for her.

Alicia

She's currently all the way in Australia, so you likely have only heard tales of her existence. Joe and Nicole met her at the fencing club. For those lucky enough to know this elusive woman she is an absolute delight! We get along so well because she is always down to do things for the bit. Go ask about her time in Australia! You will probably find her hanging out with Erika, Wesley, and Nance at the wedding. 

Julie

She became quick friends with Joe and Nicole through fencing. Her and her husband Reid have become druids over the last few years living deep in the north in a log cabin. You will probably find her and Reid hanging out in the outdoor hammocks at the wedding or dancing! 

Nicole and Liz became work friends and then real life friends. Finding humor in all of the awkward situations we have encountered both together and separately. They are both fairly accident prone. If you have any medical training maybe take a mental note of her and stay close 😉. Just kidding....hopefully! You would probably find her with her husband Dillon on the dance floor. 

Joe and Nicole know Erika from the fencing club and immediately thought her humor and large collection of hats were endearing. Quickly, she became an integral part of our friend group, coming to game nights, tea parties, and generating so much laughter and fun. Be sure to ask how many hats she has now the answer will probably be entertaining. You will probably find her on the dance floor with Nance and Julie. 

Erika

Jay and Nicole met at Kildaire where they became fast friends. The bond of sarcastic comments and mind reading is so strong. You will likely find her on the dance floor with her husband John and the Kildaire crew! Be sure to ask about their child prodigy. 

Katherine and Nicole met at Kildaire where Nicole offered Katherine a full dinner during her working interview because she literally worked prior to coming to meet the team. She will make you roll on the floor laughing. You will likely find her on the dance floor. 

Katherine 

She's Nicole's younger cousin born and raised in Charlotte, NC. She just graduated from college, so be sure to congratulate her! When she is done with her job of throwing flowers, you will likely find her dancing with Fletcher, or playing some of the outdoor games. 

Katie

He's been on the radio, he is a man of many talents, and now he's our officiant. This is not his first rodeo he's been chosen for this position before in other weddings. You will for sure find him on the dance floor for the entire evening. I'm sure if you go up and chat he will have something entertaining to share. 

Arif

Wesley and Joe met at the NC State fencing club. Bonding over their judgment of others and geeking out over games and cars, they became lifelong friends. Wesley also taught Nicole some pretty sick dance moves. Be sure to ask Wes about the time he and Joe went skiing together. 

Wesley

Nance and Joe met at the NC State fencing club. Nance and Joe also bonded at their job together at Cree. They both enjoy good cocktails and convincing others to do work for them (ask Nance about the candy-making party) Be sure to ask Nance about their night shifts together. 

Nance

Joe met Kelly at NC State fencing. Kelly is their Dungeon Master. Kelly and Joe both studied engineering. Ask Kelly about the cool shirts everyone got for his birthday one year.

Joe met Jason at...take a guess. If you said NC State fencing, you are correct! They bonded through group game nights, parties, and club events. 

Jason

Reid and Joe met at NC State Fencing. Reid and Nicole also met through the club. Reid is great at choosing dinner party music. Reid is married to Lia, and they live in NH together. For a brief period of time, they all lived together as roommates.

Travel

This is our favorite brewery in Raleigh. They have a great selection of beer and are located right next to the TransferCo Food Hall. Let us know if you check them out! Photo above is us drinking some beer from Burial.

Burial Beer Co. Raleigh Taproom

This general store is located nearby the venue and has amazing food. It is also located near the Haw River. We both think it's worth a try. This is technically a photo of the Saxapahaw Ballroom, but like close enough

Saxapahaw General Store

If you enjoy checking out free or low cost museums this is the place for you. They have an outdoor section that is completely free. We have spent alot of time hammocking here with friends over the years. It is a great place for a picnic and to see art.

North Carolina Museum of Art

This is also a really great brewery in Raleigh! They have a cycling club and also used to do Sunday yoga, which I have dragged my fair share of friends to over the years.

Crank Arm Brewing Company

For one of our earlier dates we went to see the Hawks migrate and hiked here. They are migrating either a week before our wedding, or right around the time of it. So if you like birdwatching you can go see the Hawks nest!

Pilot Mountain State Park

This place is pretty cool! If you want to go check out some pretty flowers and trees.

North Carolina Botanical Garden

All through college we went here with the fencing club frequently. Also after college when we lived down the road we would walk here and were definitely regulars. The food is amazing with a great selection of craft beer.

Village Draft House

If you want good Chinese food here is the spot! My favorite dish is the Chicken Teriyaki with white rice and their wonton soup and Joe loves their dumplings!

Beansprout Chinese Restaurant

We lived near here. If you like roses and tiny amphitheaters it is a pretty nice location. We went on our first ever date here and walked Joe's dogs.

Rose Garden

One of the best coffee shops in my opinion! If you would like a coffee IV, but couldn't find a place to do it, they have an alternative option. It's called the Sir Walter Six and it's literally 6 shots of espresso with some additives. So if you are feeling low energy try them out.
